Decoder was built for professionals doing confidential job searches. Privacy isn't a checkbox — it's a design requirement. This page explains exactly what we collect, what we don't, and why.

The Short Version
- ✓No login required — ever — to use the core Decoder tool.
- ✓Your resume is never stored after your session ends.
- ✓Your employer is never notified. No tracking. No alerts.
- ✓Email is optional and only used to send what you asked for.
- ✓No ads. No data selling. No third-party tracking pixels.
What We Collect
- Resume text you paste or upload — analyzed in memory, never stored after your session ends unless you explicitly save your report.
- Job posting text you provide — used only for the analysis you run.
- Email address — only if you voluntarily submit it to save your report or download the playbook. Never required to use Decoder.
- Anonymous usage analytics — page views, analysis counts, and feature usage. No names, no emails, no personally identifiable information attached.
- Outcome data — if you voluntarily report what happened after applying (interview, offer, etc.). This is anonymous and opt-in.
What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not track your browsing history or activity outside Decoder.
- We do not store your resume text after your analysis session ends.
- We do not notify your current employer, recruiter, or anyone else that you used Decoder.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We do not require account creation or login to use the core Decoder tool.
- We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. Necessary functional cookies (e.g. keeping you logged in, remembering your checkout session) may still be set by Decoder or our payment processor.
How We Use Your Data
- Email address — used only to send you the report or playbook you requested. You may receive a short follow-up sequence (2–3 emails) with additional career visibility resources. You can unsubscribe from any email.
- Anonymous analytics — used to understand which features are most useful and improve scoring accuracy.
- Outcome data — aggregated and anonymized to validate whether RVI scores correlate with real-world interview rates. Individual responses are never displayed publicly.
- Analysis data — if you're logged in, analyses are saved to your account so you can reference them later. If not logged in, no analysis data persists.
Data Retention & Deletion
- Resume/job posting text — not stored after session end (unless saved to your account).
- Email and report data — retained as long as needed to fulfill the request, then subject to standard email provider retention policies.
- Account data — if you create an account, your saved analyses are retained until you delete them or request account deletion.
- Deletion requests — email hello@getdecoderapp.com with the subject line 'Data Deletion Request' and we will remove your data within 30 days.
Third-Party Services
- Resend — email delivery service. Your email address is transmitted to Resend solely to deliver emails you requested. Resend's privacy policy applies to their handling of that data.
- Base44 — the platform that hosts Decoder. Standard cloud infrastructure security applies.
- Wix — our payment processor. If you purchase a paid plan, the payment details you enter (name, email, card information) are collected and processed directly by Wix, not by Decoder. We receive only your email address and purchase/plan status to unlock the tools you paid for. Wix's privacy policy applies to their handling of your payment data.
- AI model providers — resume and job posting text is transmitted to AI providers for analysis. This data is used only for the purpose of generating your analysis and is not used to train models.
- We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising networks.
Who We Are
Decoder is an independent product built and operated by Ronnie Norris Jr., a compliance and risk professional with 20+ years in banking and financial services. Decoder was built from firsthand experience — 51 applications to qualified roles with only 9 callbacks — and is designed specifically for compliance, AML, and regulatory professionals navigating recruiter-driven hiring systems.

Terms of Use
- 1.Decoder is provided as-is for informational and career development purposes. Results are based on pattern analysis and AI inference — they are not a guarantee of employment outcomes.
- 2.You retain full ownership of any resume text, job posting text, or personal information you submit. By using Decoder, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely for the purpose of generating your analysis.
- 3.Decoder is intended for lawful job search use. You may not use Decoder to scrape data, reverse-engineer scoring models, or submit content that violates third-party rights.
- 4.We reserve the right to discontinue or modify the service at any time. In the event of service discontinuation, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users.
- 5.By using Decoder, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.
